Junior Analyst - Renewable Fuels
Brussels | 6-month paid traineeship
CleanMotion Advisory is looking for a Junior Analyst to strengthen its team. You will help track how markets and policies for renewable fuels are evolving, support building the datasets that underpin our analysis, and contribute to client projects. Your work will eventually feed into subscription products, consulting assignments, conference presentations and various other outputs.
The position starts as a six-month paid internship (convention d’immersion professionnelle). The ambition is for it to grow into a longer term role, as the company and the collaboration develop. You will work closely with the founder to help shape a young company, allowing for some out of the box thinking and real intellectual impact.
Responsibilities
-
Market monitoring: tracking policy decisions, project announcements, consumption data, trade measures and other industry news impacting renewable fuel markets.
-
Database build-up: developing and maintaining structured datasets on e.g. emission reduction obligations, production capacity, feedstock flows and product demand.
-
Modelling and analysis: supporting our work on market balances, feedstock use and forward-looking supply-demand projections.
-
Consulting support: researching, analysing and drafting for client projects on a wide range of renewable fuel topics.
-
Communicating insights: turning research into actionable insights for client presentations, website materials and social media.
-
Streamlining technology processes: integrating AI in workflows, cross-checking AI outputs and tweaking agent instructions to eliminate repetitive tasks.
Your profile
-
Master’s degree in business, economics, data analysis, energy studies, political science or a comparable field.
-
Genuine interest in energy markets, climate policies and the role of commodities in both.
-
An eye for detail and a critical mind when assessing sources and data.
-
Excellent Excel skills and a solid grasp of quantitative analysis.
-
Clear and precise English. Additional languages are an advantage.
-
Familiarity with energy markets, or previous research/consulting experience (internships included), is an advantage.
-
AI literate, or enthusiastic to integrate AI into workflows while remaining conscious of the limitations.
-
Eligibility to work in Belgium.
